While America Aged: How Pensions Debts Ruined General Motors, Stopped the NYC Subways, Bankrupted San Diego, and Loom as the Next Financial Crisis, by Roger Lowenstein
In Roger Lowenstein’s latest book, While America Aged, the reader learns how governments and corporations across the United States have used pensions as a way to gain favor with unions only to see the day of reckoning arrive with cumulative retirement deficits approaching $1 trillion dollars.  While America Aged, recognizes this critical issue, at a time that workers are concerned about the security of their retirement, and as our population of baby boomers continues to age.  The political and economic history of this book lays great ground work to this crisis and addresses why we need an urgent call to action, as well as solutions to reform.
The philosophy or strategy that future generations will pay for it later and forever has finally run its course.
